Medtronic has partnered with a group of doctors who have years of experience with InterStim Therapy.

"InterStim Therapy can have a huge impact on quality of life. My patients say it has changed their lives. They're thrilled that they can finally sleep through the night, or sit through a movie without getting up. It's a relief to feel the freedom to do everyday activities, without worrying about their bladder all the time."

"Too often people think they have to just live with their bladder problems. That thinking is very widespread, but inaccurate, since there are options. I want to help more people be better educated about their condition, know what their options are, and to ask their doctors for help."

"I tell my patients with bladder control problems that they have an information management problem in their nervous system. The switch is either stuck in the go all the time position or in the no-go position. InterStim Therapy can work well for both sets of problems. Since the therapy is reversible, it's easier for patients to consider trying it."

Not everyone who receives InterStim Therapy will receive the same results. In addition to risks related to a surgical procedure, complications associated with InterStim Therapy can include pain at the implant sites, new pain, infection, lead (thin wire) movement/migration, device problems, interactions with certain other devices or diagnostic equipment such as MRI, undesirable changes in urinary or bowel function, uncomfortable stimulation (sometimes described as a jolting or shocking feeling), and others. Surgery is required to remove the InterStim Therapy system. Please refer to Important Safety Information. Always discuss the potential risks and benefits of the therapy with your physician. This therapy is not for everyone. A prescription is required.
